SK 47 NE PARISH OF BARLBOROUGH PARK STREET 1/42 (East Side) 13.8.87 Park Street Farmhouse GV II

Farmhouse. Late C16, C18 and C19. Coursed squared sandstone, partly cement rendered. Stone dressings to front door. Pantile roof with three brick ridge stacks and a brick gable stack. Two storeys, T-plan. West elevation of five irregular bays, has an off- centre doorway with moulded, keyed, round arch. Impost and jamb blocks. To the right is a C19 single bar sash and a small C20 window. To the left is a C19 sash in C17 chamfered opening and a further C19 sash. Three similar windows above and, in the centre, a tall round-arched staircase window. The rear elevation has a recessed bay containing a C17 4-light recessed and chamfered mullion and transom window. Remains of a blocked mullion window above. Otherwise the rear elevation has mostly C19 sashes. The interior has a late C16 decorative plaster overmantel with geometrical pattern, foliage and fluted pilasters. Early C18 staircase, closed string, with turned balusters. Ramped handrail to lower flight. Remains of C17 panelling said to have come from the church. Exposed beams.
