CUCKFIELD RURAL BISHOPSTONE LANE TQ 22 SE Ansty 15/10002 Sick Cow Barn at Bishopstone Farm GV II
Sick cow barn for isolation of diseased livestock. Some C16 components but building otherwise appears C18 in date. Oak timberframe on brick and stone plinth, clad in weatherboarding with half-hipped roof now clad in corrugated iron. Interior has 2 isolation stalls with brick paved floor. Separate feed store for sick animals. Wooden pegs for hanging harnesses or coats. This is a complete example of a now rare building type.
