Details
EASTON ON THE HILL CHURCH STREET TF0104 (West side) 11/46 No.33 (Bank Cottage) GV II Shown as Nos.33 and 35 on Ordnance Survey map. 2 houses, now one dwelling. Mid/late C18 with datestone F/MB/1811 for Fitzjohn family. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roofs. Originally a single-unit dwelling abutting Church Street and a 2-unit dwelling to rear. 2 storeys. Elevation to Church Street is a 2-window range at first floor, of C19 style casements set under eaves and a similar window, under wood lintel to ground floor left. Entrance to through passage to right, is under wood lintel and formerly gave access to the dwelling at the rear. Stone stacks at ends. Datestone between windows at first floor. Dwelling to rear now linked to front range by a C20 glazed corridor. This range is C18 and has early C19 sash windows with glazing bars in rear wall and gable end. Interior: range to rear has an open fireplace with bressumer with a winder stair alongside. Stud framed partition between rooms at first floor.
