Details

COLLYWESTON HIGH STREET SK9902 (North side) 8/38 Beaufort House GV II Shown as The Rectory on Ordnance Survey map. Rectory, now house, c1832/53 by James Richardson of Stamford, extended mid/late C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and Collyweston slate roof. Double depth plan. 2 storeys. Main front is a 5-window range. Central 5-panel door. Moulded wood doorcase with roundels at corners and open pediment. Rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. Unhorned sash windows, with glazing bars, reducing at first floor. Ashlar dressings and stone lintels with keyblocks. Ashlar quoins. Hipped roof with 2 ashlar stacks to centre. Mid/late C19 one-bay extension, to left, is all in similar style. Interior not inspected but said to retain early C19 fittings and staircase with a stick balustrade.
