CULWORTH THE GREEN SP5446 (South side) 11/53 Culworth Forge GV II
Cottage and forge. Late C18. Coursed limestone rubble, corrugated tile roof, flanking brick stacks. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Central doorway with wood lintel and plank door. 3-light casement window with wood lintel on either side. Similar 2-light windows on first floor. Forge adjoining to left, coursed ironstone rubble, corrugated iron roof. One storey and loft (loft storey rebuilt in brick at rear). 3 bays. Extension to front, C19, brick, one storey, 3 bays, has central doorway with wood lintel and plank stable door, flanked by windows with wood lintels each of 16 narrow lights with wood glazing bars. Interior not inspected, but the forge is said to have old open fireplace.
