GV II

House. Dated 1750, with earlier origins. Painted brick, C20 plain-tile roofs, brick end stacks. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Central 6-panel door in pegged wood surround with brick lintel and straight hood on brackets. C19 sash windows to ground and first floors, those to ground floor with gauged brick lintels and keyblocks, those to first floor with brick lintels; central first floor window, blank. Plinth, storey band, brick modillion eaves and moulded tile-coping to gables. 2 hipped roof dormers. Blocked door to right with round-arched head, imposts and keyblock. Single-storey wing to left with tripartite sash window and corbelled brick eaves. 2-storey wing to rear left is of coursed and uncoursed limestone rubble. This wing may be of late C17 date. Interior: ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams and large open fireplace with chamfered bressumer in back wing. Fitted cupboard with shaped shelves.
