GV II

Includes No.2, Park Street. Row of shops and dwellings and restaurant. Early C18 with C20 alterations. Red brick in Flemish bond, painted to front, C20 plain-tile hipped roofs, brick ridge and end stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 6-window range. C20 shop front to No. 197. C19 shop front to No. 199 with pair of canted bay windows either side of C20 glazed door. C18 shop front to No.201 (The Pickwick Restaurant) with part-glazed central door, flanked by bay windows, that to left with pair of 12-pane sash windows with thick glazing bars, that to right many-paned, both with dentilled wood moulded cornice carried over door as hood. C19 canted bay window to first floor left, C19 sash windows to first floor centre and 12-pane sash windows to first floor right. Storey band and moulded eaves. Hipped and gabled roof dormers. Wing to rear left faces Park Street, has flared headers to brickwork and 12-pane sashes to ground and first floors all with gauged brick lintels. Inserted C20 door with wood lintel. Lower 2-storey, one-window extension with 4-panel part-glazed door with ornamental overlight and reeded wood surround with cornice hood, C20 first floor casement window with flat-arched head and nogged brick eaves. Interior: No.201 has rebuilt staircase with re-used early C18 turned balusters.
