SP 65 SE TIFFIELD HIGH STREET NORTH (East Side) 3/188 No.2 (Bridge House)

II

House, formerly farmhouse. Dated 1696, raised early C19 in ironstone. Coursed squared limestone, asbestos tile roof, brick and stacks. 3-unit plan. 3-storey, 3-window range. 6-panel part-glazed door to right of centre with moulded wood surround and straight hood on brackets. 2-light.casement window immediately to left of door with wood lintel. Otherwise 3 light casements to ground and first floors 2-light casements to attic floor all with wood lintels. Ironstone-coped gabled with kneelers. Datestone above door inscrbed P/TE/1696. C19 single storey lean-to extension to rear. Interior has chamfered spine beams, inglenook fireplace with boxed bressumer fitted corner cupboard with shaped shelves and round arched doors windows stair with landings, from ground floor to attic and original collar trusses preserved in raised roof.
