WAPPENHAM HIGH STREET SP6245 (North side) 11/96 The Old Chequers
GV II
House, formerly public house. Late C17. Coursed limestone rubble with some ironstone, corrugated asbestos roof, brick ridge and end stacks on stone bases. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. C20 door to right of centre with stop-chamfered timber lintel flanked by 2-light casements windows, a 1-light window to far right and 2-light casement to far left, and 2-light casement window to first floor, all with timber lintels. Interior has chamfered spine beams and 2 open fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers.
