Milestone. Probably c.1829. Sandstone, painted white. Triangular with rounded back. c.30 inches high. Inscribed on one side
Otterburn, and on the other Newcastle 2 Miles 28 Miles Jedbro 28 Miles
The Newcastle -Jedburgh Turnpike was opened in 1776 but this section is a new line of 1829.
