CARTINGTON CRAGSIDE NU 0702 24/12 The Iron Bridge, across the Debdon Burn 80 metres north-west of Cragside GV II*
Footbridge, manufactured in 1870s at Lord Armstrong's Elswick Works. Steel superstructure on rock-faced piers and abutments. Semicircular arch flanked by half arches, with intersecting curving members in spandrels. Boarded walkway. Handrails of slender uprights carrying 4 wire ropes. Lightweight cast-iron double gates at each end.
Partly in Rothbury Parish.
