Details

HARTBURN HIGH ANGERTON NZ 0985 19/45 High Angerton Farmhouse (formerly listed as 20.10.69 Mr. Phillipson's house) GV II House, dated 1833 on lintel. Tooled stone, tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings; slate roof. T-plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Plinth. Projecting narrow central bay has narrow 12-pane sash, renewed window above and slit in gable with coping and kneelers; and left return with vertical- panelled door in surround with flat-pointed head within crenellated frame. Flanking bays have 2-light mullioned windows with sashes, (except lower left which has C20 glazing and has lost its mullion) under coped gables. All windows have recessed chamfered surrounds and chamfered hoodmoulds. Coped gables with kneelers, stepped stone end stacks with conjoined shafts and modillion cornice. Left return has corbelled-out stack, right return larger stepped stack projection.
