8/7 Cottage, carriage house and gateway attached to north of Akeld Manor GV II

Cottage with attached carriage house and gateway. Late c18. Rendered with ashlar dressings and Lakeland slate roof.

Cottage: single storey, 3 bays. Almost central ½-glazed door in plain ashlar surround. Flanking 12-pane sashes in similar surrounds. Gabled roof with flat coping and rendered end stacks.

Lower carriage house attached on left. Single storey, 3 bays. 3 segmental arches with square piers : - the left 2 arches have double doors, the right one is now blocked,with 4-pane sash.

Gateway attached to right of cottage has short stretch of rendered wall c.6 ft. high with chamfered coping; and square ashlar, corniced gatepiers with pyramidal caps.
