NZ 0285 WALLINGTON DEMESNE FRONT ROW, CAMBO 18/175 No 10 (Cambo House) and Cambo House Cottage GV II House and extension now 2 dwellings linked internally. Late C18 house altered in early C19 and early C20 and extended to north in 1910. Squared, tooled stone with dressings; slate roof. South front 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Central porch with plinth, boarded outer door in chamfered surround and angle pilasters to moulded cornice with ball finials. Altered internal 9-panel door with 4-pane overlight. Ground floor plain sash windows, first floor 16-pane sashes. Coped gables carry stepped-and-corniced stacks with conjoined shafts. Right return; plain sashes on ground floor, blocked window panel above and 2 small attic lights, one with old 9-pane casement. Slightly set back north bay has 3-light mullioned window of 1903 on ground floor. Further 2-bay extension of 1910. Other windows in this extended wing are 4-pane sashes. Stepped and corniced stacks on ridge at right end. Cambo House Cottage is included for group value only.
