TQ 4009 NE LEWES SOUTHOVER HIGH STREET 13/399 (south side) Southover 25.2.52 Southover Old House.

GV II

House, now school. Mid - late C18, extended to right in mid C19. Gault mathematical tiles with rendered strips flanking quoins on the inside, wooden block rusticated quoins, extension in yellow mathematical tiles to left and extension to right in red brick with grey headers. Wooden moulded cornice and moulded piers over quoins in rendered parapet with coping hiding plain tiled roof with gable-parapets and end stacks. 4 slightly segment-headed dormers and stack behind ridge to rear. 2 storeys and attics; regular 3 window front, tripartite dashed with glazing bar sash over central entrance. Single dash without glazing bars in extension to left. Central entrance with panelled door, transom light and horizontally-rusticated reveals. Pilastered surround with rosette-decorated cornice over. 2 storey extension to right with hipped plain tiled roof; sashes without glazing bars.
