25.2.52 No 139 GV II

House. Late C17 with elevation altered in mid C18. Knapped flints with blocked stone quoins and raised cement window surrounds. Dentilled cornice to Horsham slab roof with end stack to right and 3 segment-headed dormers. 2 storeys and attics; 4 window front, with narrow window to left. Glazing bar sashes. Panelled door at extreme left with flat hood on brackets. Central downpipe with rainwater head dated 1654. The building seems to have been extended at some time by one bay, as shown by the redundant quoins up to ground- floor window head level. Interior: Stone-flagged entrance hall. Staircase with open twist balusters. Two front rooms with fielded panelling, that to the left of the front door with a marble fire-surround.
