2/220 The Old Post Office 9/3/60 'Rosecroft'

House. Late C16/Early C17 with C19 extensions to left and rear. Timber framed, exposed on ground floor on rendered plinth with whitewashed brick infilling, tile hung above in fishscale and 'club' pattern with the lower courses canted out over the ground floor. Plain tiled roofs. On a corner site with the entrance at right angles to the street; three ranges parallel to the street with a short cross range between the front two. Two storeys with detached offset stack to front left, larger stack to rear right. Gabled range to right with one 4-light casement window on the first floor, one 3-light window below. Smaller gable to left of centre with one 2-light window on the first floor and one 4-light window in pentice range extending across the ground floor. Further 4-light window in gabled extension set back to left. Central door in angle with ground floor pentice. Elevation facing The Street: front stack to left. Framing of thin scantling exposed on ground floor and one window on each floor.
