Rowly Farm House
II
House. C16, extended to right in 1887. Timber framed core exposed on left hand return front with whitewashed brick infill over brick render plinth, tile hanging above. Clad in red and blue brick to left, whitewashed render to right, whitewashed brick and tile hung extensions. Plain tiled roofs, hipped and stepping down to left. Entrance front to rear.
Two storeys, roof raised to right of centre and taller extensions to right end. Multiple stack to left of centre with corbelled top, further stacks on ends of extensions with decorative brick panels on shafts, strapwork cartouches and dentilled hoods. One casement window on each floor to left end, that to ground floor under cambered head. Two leaded windows on centre range with raised eaves. Projecting extension to right with one window on each floor and glazed door to left of stack. Old entrance to lobby entrance to left with C19 gabled brick porch.
Right hand return front: angle bay to left projecting with one first floor and one six-light "cross" window around the bay on the ground floor. Hip-roofed half-glazed porch to right at junction of angle bay, hip windowed range to right.
Interior: brick floored lobby entry. Good brick fireplace. Stop chamfered central spine beams on ground floor.
