GODALMING OCKFORD ROAD SU 9643 SW (north west side) 14/197 Nos 104, 106 and 108 23.2.70 GV II
House, now 3 dwellings. Probably late C16 or early C17, added to and altered. Timber frame, rubblestone and brick; plain tile roof. 2 storeys. 4 bays, 1:2:1, the 2 central bays the earliest with stack in left bay, bay added to left, bay added to right, and then rear outshuts added. Painted rubble plinth; ground floor of painted brick; on first floor exposed timber frame comprising wall posts, mid-rail, irregular rectangular panels, some straight braces, and wall plate, all with painted brick or plaster infill. Brick steps up to board doors, those to Nos 104 and 106 (to right) paired and flanked by 2-light windows; that to No 108 (in bay 2) with a 3-light small-pane window to its left; all ground-floor windows with board shutters. On first floor, casement windows, set in frame of 3, 2 (very small), 3 and 3 lights. Roof half-hipped at left end, with large old brick stack to bay 2 and another at right end. Rear: pent- roofed outshut on left with small window above; on right, outshut under catslide roof with skylight. Right return: timber framing revealed. Left return: rubble plinth; tile-hung above; base of left-hand wall-post visible. Interior of No 106: exposed framing; front room has chamfered cross-beam supporting chamfered spine beam with stepped cyma stop; fireplace has chamfered 4-centred-arched fireplace, brick-lined and with former bread oven; cellar has timber-framed wall on right, rubblestone wall with brick quoins on left.
