Marked on the map as Hardwick Hall. Completed by 1931. Architect: Harold Falkner. Based on 2 farm buildings from nearby Runwick House [see Runwick
Lane]. Infilling materials brought from Deans farmyard [see Dippep11all Grange].
The barns were placed end to end; the timber-framed structure is visible externally the herrings bone brick in filling to the upper floors has now been painted white and natural-coloured timbers painted black. Stone rubble facing to ground floor wall-plate. Old tile roofs which in places descend very low, formerly probably over side aisles. The south west barn is taller with half-hipped gables. The overhang on the south-east side is not continuous; the north-east structure [to right-hand} is recessed and has a lower eaves level. Post-and-pan timber framing to the lost floor in both North East and south west parts on this side, and 3 open colonnaded bays on the ground floor in the north-east, right hand part. 2, 3 or 4-light casements with leaded panes. In the taller part to the left hand, the roof descends much lower over the 2 bays at the left hand end. Then follows to the north-east a timber-framed projection with hipped tile roof. Then to the north-east again 4 bays remain to the left hand part, with an overhang to the 1st floor; and then follow 7 bays to the right hand part also with an overhang.
South-west gable end: a tall 4-light splayed bay in 5 tiers with small leaded panes rises upwards through nearly the full height of the wall space; gable with bargeboard above it in and below the half hipped gable end of the main roof. Panels of timber-framing visible to either side of window. Door on ground floor
North west entrance front: rectangular panels of timber-framing with plaster infilling on a stone rubble base. South-west or right hand structure has
a higher wall-plate at the right hand end where there is an external chimney of stone with tall brick stacks, with a timber-framed bay to the right hand. To the left hand, a 3-centred stone doorway with projecting window bay over; post-and-pan timbering; transorned and mullioned window with coved cornice below; hipped gable over. To north-east or left hand again, a rectangular window bay with corner window 3 tiers deep x 5 lights wide. Beyond this, the roof descends low and forms a pentice over a section of one storey with 3 window bays; 1 dormer.
In the left hand or north-east timber-framed structure, 3 window bays, a projecting bay with hipped roof and finally, one window bay and door. A wall incorporating 2 single storeyed outbuildings divides the front into 2 on this side.
