Engine house for Fallowfield lead mine, now cottage. 1779, extended C19.
Rubble with tooled quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roof. Rectangular engine
house with projecting square stack on north and pent additions to either side.
South elevation: centre part 2 storeys on basement, with flanking single-storey
pent additions and another similar lower addition on far right. 4-pane casements
under timber lintels in centre; in left addition C20 window and in right renewed
16-pane sash under timber lintel. Centre and additions to right each have
boarded basement door. Rear elevation shows 3-stage stack with band just below
top; renewed door with 3-pane overlight to right. Attached section of wall of
another C18 building on far right.
Important industrial archaeological survival.
