SIMONBURN B 6320 NY 87 SE (South side, off) 9/119 Fairshaw farmhouse and adjoining farmbuilding on east GV II

Farmhouse and farmbuilding. Farmhouse dated 1743 on door lintel; early and mid C19 alterations and additions. Squared rubble with dressings; purple slate roofs and dressed stone chimneys. 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse has tooled quoins. First floor rebuilt in Cl9. Openings in flush surrounds with alternating jambs: central partly-glazed 4-panel door has lintel inscribed: L A I 1743 (Lancelot Allgood); replaced 6-pane sashes. Low-pitched roof with coped gables. End stacks with top bands. Long 2-storey range of farmbuildings of several builds on right return of house. Range incorporates loose-boxes at left and cart-shed at right. 2 boarded doors in chamfered surrounds with alternating jambs at left; 4 segmental arches on square-plan piers at right; 5 openings above. Stone gutter brackets. Low-pitched roof with coped right gable. External stone stair on right return. 2-storey gabled wing and single-storey outshut on rear of house.
