MELKRIDGE A 69 (T) NY 76 SW (North side, off) High Town 16/55 Threshing barn and additions north of High Town House GV II
Farmbuildings. Early C19 threshing barn with later C19 additions. Dressed stone barn with corrugated-asbestos roof; coursed rubble additions with slate roofs. Linked T-plan: threshing barn with extension on right return; byre at right-angles, with lean-to barn on rear. 2-storey, 5-bay threshing barn: central opposed elliptical archways with paired boarded doors; 2 rows of breathers; blind pointed archway on left return. 2-storey, 2-bay extension on right return: C20 garage openings with small boarded window above; roof hipped at right. 2-storey, 3-bay byre, on bay to right of barn archway, has central Dutch door with boarded loft opening above in surrounds with alternating jambs. Lower 2-storey lean-to barn on rear of byre. Single-storey garage on gable end of byre is not of special interest. Included for group value.
