8/213 Black Hall Cottage
GV II
House, dated 1725 with initials J.T. on lintel; later C18 outshut, front refenestrated early C19. Coursed rubble with cut quoins and dressings; stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central renewed door in old chamfered surround with dated lintel, flanked by renewed 16-pane sashes. Renewed 12-pane sash above door flanked by plate-glass sashes; all windows have tooled lintels and splayed sills. Coped gables with moulded kneelers, old brick end stacks on stone bases. Right return shows segmental relieving arch with lozenge-shaped window to right, and 2 chamfered lights to attic; similar attic windows on left return.
Interior: Large kitchen fireplace with chamfered surround and 2 arched ovens at rear, plainer parlour fireplace perhaps late C18. Panelled central stair, 2-panel doors.
