GV II

Pair of houses, dated 1853. Squared stone with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roofs. Tudor Gothic style. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Chamfered plinth. Recessed centre between gabled end bays; taller left bay has 4-light bay window with moulded cornice and parapet, 3-light window above and small lozenge-shaped gable light above dated panel with Allendale arms in gable. Centre 4-light window and 2-light window in gabled half-dormer above; right bay has 3-light (below) and 2-light windows and slit in gable. All openings in recessed chamfered surrounds, mostly with hoodmoulds; glazing renewed except for latticed slit on right return of porch. Ridge stack with 4 short circular shafts. Left return shows projecting gabled porch (to Wentworth House) with vertical- panelled door under moulded 4-centred arch, outer order and gable corbelled out. Right return shows projecting stepped stack. Entrance to Wentworth Cottage at rear. Gables with serpentine cusped bargeboards; moulded finials with pendants.
