Details
PARISH OF ECKINGTON CHURCH STREET SK 4379 11/80 30.3.81 68 and 70 Church Street GV II House and shop. Mid C18 with C19 alterations. Coursed coal measures sandstone, with east bay reworked in red brick. Stone slates and clay pantiles, with coped gables, moulded kneelers and gable brick stack. Two storeys, two bays, with later lower brick extension to north-west, and single bay lower extension to south-east with C19 shop front and panelled door. 2-light flush mullioned windows in flush stone surrounds, those to the brick section being moulded. Later casements, and inserted small panel single light window to stone bay. C20 door to central doorway, but earlier four bay panelled door to the brick bay.
