Details

PARISH OF ECKINGTON CHURCH STREET SK 4379 11/72 Rectory Cottage II House. Late C18 with C19 alterations. Coursed squared coal measures sandstone with advanced quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, ridge and gable brick stacks, one with a moulded stone cornice, and a Welsh slated roof. 'L' plan house, with a two storey offshut within the angle of the two ranges. North elevation. Two storeys, two bays, with gable to west side having stacked glazing bar sashes, within flush stone frames. First floor windows with a semi-circular arched head with imposts and projecting keyblock, and with radiating glazing bars to curved head of upper sash. Lean-to offshut, set back to east, with two glazing bar sashes, 3 x 3 panes to ground floor, 2 x 3 panes to upper floor, both beneath plain stone lintels, the one to the ground floor a channelled wedge lintel. Rear elevation with a first floor Diocletian window. The east elevation has been rebuilt in brick.
