G.V. II

Farmhouse, former service wing of Averham Park, c.1720, with
large C19 and C20 additions to south and west. For Robert
Sutton, Lord Lexington. Brick with hipped and gabled pantile and
plain tile roofs. First floor band, dentillated eaves, 2 ridge,
single gable and single side wall stacks. 2 storeys, 6 bays. C-
plan. Main north front has 6 glazing bar sashes, C20, and above,
6 oval keystoned openings with 4 glazing bar sashes flanked by
single blank panels. East end has to left C19 addition with 2
C20 flat roofed additions. To left, a casement flanked by single
French windows and to right, a glazing bar sash with segmental
head. Above, to left, 4 casements and a glazed door, and to
right, a glazing bar sash. C20 addition, to west, 2 storeys, 2
bays, is of no special interest. Remains of principal rafter
softwood roof with tenoned purlins. Cellar at east end formerly
connected by tunnel to Averham Park.
