Public house. Early C19, with early and late C20 alterations. Brick with stone dressings and hipped and gabled slate roof. Rounded corner, plain eaves, 3 ridge stacks. Windows have keystoned splayed lintels. 3 storeys; 6x3 bays. Market place front has a range of 6 glazing bar sashes and above, 6 smaller sashes. To left, a rusticated early C20 doorcase with segmental pediment, flanked to left by a single sash and to right by 4 sashes. Church Street side has a slightly projecting centre and 3 window range of glazing bar sashes. Above, 3 smaller sashes. Chamfered round headed doorway with keystone and imposts, and the words "Crown Hotel" in raised lettering. On either side, a round headed scraper and beyond, single sashes. Interior refitted early and late C20.
