SP43SE DEDDINGTON ADDERBURY GROUNDS 3/151 The Paper Mill and Millhouse II Watermill and millhouse, Probably late C18, altered C19. Coursed squared marlstone with wood and limestone-ashlar lintels; Welsh-slate roof with stone-and-brick end stacks. 2-unit plan with rear outshut plus mill. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window C19 front of house, facing garden, has 4-pane sashes with stone lintels, and a central doorway with narrow flanking windows. Single-bay mill to left has a brick arch over the headrace, a casement above it, and 2 blocked windows under the eaves. Rear of mill has another brick arch over the tailrace, with headers in a chequer pattern. Rear of house has three 2-light C18 casements above a lean-to extension. Interiors not inspected, but mill noted as being virtually complete with breast-shot waterwheel and iron gear of 1870, when the paper mill was re-converted for corn milling.
