Japonica Cottage. Cottage, C18 with C20 alterations and additions. Colourwashed coursed limestone rubble. Steeply pitched thatched roof. Brick ridge stack. Stone coped gable on right. One unit extended to 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. 4-window range. Entrance to right has plank door, moulded wood frame and C20 porch. Small wood casement with glazing bars and wood lintel to right. Three 2-light wood casements to left with wood lintels. First floor has a single light casement and three 2-light wood casements with hood lintels. Interior: main ground floor room has an inglenook fireplace with bread oven and chamfered wood bressumer. Chamfered beam. Wood winder staircase. Plank door with strap hinges. First floor has original common rafters visible in bedrooms partition walls and plank doors with strap hinges. Cottage abutting to right. C18 with C20 alterations, Colourwashed limestone rubble. C20-tile roof. Brick end stack One-unit plan. 2 storeys. One-window range. Entrance off-centre to left has panelled/qlazed door and gabled C20 porch. Small single-light casement to left. To right a 2-light wood casement with wood lintel. First floor has a C20 wood casement. Interior: chamfered beam, refronted C19 fireplace, wood winder stair, plank doors and strap hinges.
