- II
Millhouse, now house. Early C18. Limestone rubble; wood-shingle and Welsh-slate
roofs with brick gable stacks. Central-stair plan with rear wings. 2 storeys
plus attic. Symmetrical 3-window front has a central C20 porch between renewed
3-light casements with transom lights, and has 2-light casements at first floor.
All windows have stone flat arches. Roof has 2 small hipped roof dormers and has
a hipped dormer projection over the rear staircase. Slated double-gabled rear
wing has a large projecting chimney with a rounded bread-oven extension. Rear
wing extends to left of the main range and was partly behind the mill range
which formerly adjoined the house. Interior: partly-rebuilt open fireplaces;
bread oven. Butt-purlin roof. The mill was demolished in 1949.
