Details
PEMBROKE COLLEGE 1. 1485 Staircase 13 (part of) (formerly listed as No 23, Pembroke Street) SP 5106 SW 8/577 12.1.54. II 2. RCHM 142. A C16-Cl7 3-storeyed stuccoed stone and timber-framed house with cellars and an overhang at the 1st and 2nd floors; there is also an over-hanging eaves cornice. The south wing which is of rubble, partly repointed and partly roughcast, may possibly be earlier than the front. In the ground floor front are 2 early C19 sash windows and a door-frame. In the lst floor are 2 C18 sash window in moulded frames. In the 2nd floor is a C17 moulded 6-light oriel window with wood mullions supported on 2 moulded scrolled brackets. Interior RCHM 1 173 b. Includes an early C17 fireplace surround. The whole has been modernized.
