WROXTON DARK LANE SP4040-4140 (South side) 10/201 Obelisk approx. 400m SE of 23.2.88 Wroxton College (Formerly listed as Obelisk at Wroxton Abbey) II* Obelisk. c.1750. Probably designed by Sanderson Miller as part of the landscaping of Wroxton Abbey Estate. Tall slender obelisk of ironstone on a square base. Inscription commemorates the visit of Frederick, Prince of Wales, for the Banbury races 1739.
