Details
SHENINGTON WITH ALKERTON THE GREEN SP 3642-3742 (East side) Shenington 7/80 Oriel House GV II House. C17 and C18 with C20 alterations. Finely jointed squared, coursed ironstone. Steeply pitched tiled roof. Stone ridge and end stacks on chamfered stone bases. L plan. 2 storeys plus attic. Entrance off-centre to left now blocked with inserted 2-light casement with stone flat arch. To left a tall 3-light window with small opening casement with wrought-iron casement fastener. To right 2 tall 3-light windows with wrought-iron casement fasteners and stone flat arches. First floor has three 2-light C20 imitation wood mullioned and transomed windows. Rear. Main block has 16-pane sashes and casements. Rear wing has a wide 6-light wood framed window on the ground floor and tall 2-light windows with metal casements and wood lintels on the first floor. Interior. Stop-chamfered beams in rear wing, wide fireplace with chamfered bressumer and plank door. C18 main block has windows with partly panelled reveals and window seats. C18 stair.
