GREAT HASELEY NORTH WESTON SP60NE 3/49 Outbuilding approx. 10m. to rear of Manor Farmhouse

GV II

Outbuilding. C16/early C17. Timber framing with wattle and daub infill; limestone rubble and brick; old plain-tile roof with brick gable stack. 2-bay plan. One storey. Left bay of front has a plank door with a cambered head formed in the framing; right bay is framed only above cill height but retains 2 adjoining unglazed windows of unequal heights with diamond mullions. Right gable wall is stone and brick with an inserted stack. Rear wall is partly rebuilt in brick but has a wood mullion window. Interior: Queen-past truss and 2 rows of clasped purlins with straight windbraces. Left gable frame survives internally but wall now opens into C20 farm building. Noted as being part of the mansion rebuilt in the early C16 by Sir John Clerke and largely demolished in the early C19. (V.C.H.: Oxfordshire, Vol. VII, p.170).
