GREAT HASELEY MILL LANE SP60SW (West side) 5/45 Walnut Tree Cottage
GV II
House. Early C17 and C18. Coursed limestone rubble with some brick dressings; thatched roof with brick gable stacks. 2-unit plan extended to 3. One storey plus attics. Central plank door with 3-light casement to right and 2 dormers, one with horizontal sash, the other a 3-light casement with diamond mullions. C18 bay to left has a large 3-light casement with brick quoins and segmental arch. Both ground-floor windows have plank shutters. Rear has early oak casements of 2 and 3 lights with reeded decoration. Stone and thatched former outbuilding, parallel to house, is now linked and part of dwelling. Interior: Open fireplace has cambered bressumer with carved chamfer stops; beam with ogee stops; timber-framed partition; plank doors; 2-bay clasped-purl in roof with queen-post truss.
