MARSTON OXFORD ROAD SP50NW (East side) Old Marston 4/147 The White Hart
GV II
Public House. Mid/late C17. Coursed squared limestone rubble with timber lintels; plain-tile roof with buff-brick stacks. 4-unit plan. 2 storeys plus attics. 4-window front has central door, now covered by large stone C20 porch, and almost-regular fenestration of casements, mostly with 3 or 4 lights. 3 casements, to right of door, retain ovolo-moulded frames. To left of centre, the single stone-gabled dormer has been rebuilt in re-constituted stone. Stacks, to left and right of centre, rise from the front slope of the roof. Bay to extreme left is an addition, probably C18. Interior: Opposed entrances suggest a former through passage.
