Farmhouse. c.1700. Uncoursed limestone rubble; hipped Welsh slate roof; stone
finished in render over brick end stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys and
attic; symmetrical 5-window range. Early C19 steps with piers and stone-coped
side walls. Consoles support flat hood over C19 double-leaf panelled doors.
Renewed stone lintels over late C18/early C19 six-pane sashes. Gabled roof
dormers with C19 two-light casements. Rear: sashes and 2 early C18
wood-mullioned cross windows flank 3-storey stair turret. Mid C19 extension of
similar materials to left. Interior: central hall with bolection panelling leads
through segmental-arched entry to dog-leg staircase with twisted urn balusters
and square newels with pendentives. Bolection-panelled doors. Bolection-panelled
rooms to right, with central closet. Early C18 fireplace with bolection-moulded
architrave and overmantle in room to left. First floor has panelled room over
entry, and 3 early C18 fireplaces with bolection-panelled surrounds and
over mantels: rooms have moulded cornices, and bolection-panelled dado to right.
Attic has ribbed doors and collar-truss roof.
