STANFORD-IN-THE-VALE BOW ROAD SU39SW (East side) 5/213 The Elms GV II
House. C18. Coursed limestone rubble, brick quoins and dressings; old tile roof; brick stack. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Brick jambs and segmental arches to C20 door to left and late C19 horned sash blocking original door to right, and 6-pane sashes. Dentilled brick eaves; 2 gabled roof dormers with late C19 casements. Hipped roof; ridge stack runs axially along most of ridge. Left wall has segmental brick arch over plank door with barred grille to cellar. To rear are brick jambs and segmental arches to four C20 casements and a late C19 plank door on the ground floor and four C18 two-light casements, one of which is still leaded, on the first floor. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.
