House. Probably late C16, remodelled and front wing added in late C17/early C18.
Right wing originally timber framed. Coursed limestone rubble with brick
dressings; brick right gable wall; thatched roof; brick, and brick finished in
stone, stacks. Original 2-unit extended to L-plan with front wing. One storey
and attic; 3-window range. Gable end of front wing has timber lintels over C20
casements; timber lintels over C20 door and casements to right, except C18
three-light leaded casement in half-dormer. Half-hipped roof; gable end stack to
right, ridge stack to front wing. Left side wall has timber lintel over original
entry with plank door, a C20 canted bay and late C19 three-light casements; C18
two-light leaded casement in right gable wall. Interior: Right room has
chamfered and stopped beam; C18 brick fireplace to rear left. Full set of
chamfered and stopped beams to front left room, which has original newel stairs.
3-bay, probably collar-truss, roof to front wing. Original late C16 two-unit
range has 3-bay arch-braced collar truss roof, with truncated tie beam.
