CHARNEY BASSETT SU39SE 6/84 Charney Mill and Mill House GV II

Mill house and attached mill. c.1770. Flemish bond brick, some flared headers; C20 tile roof; brick stacks. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Segmental arches over plank door and late C20 casements; late C20 porch. Dentilled eaves. Gabled roof; gable end stacks. C18 sash with shutter to rear. Interior not inspected. Mill attached to right: Coursed limestone rubble to ground floor and weatherboarded first floor; hipped old tile roof. Outshut to right side; one-storey block to front which housed mill wheel is of coursed limestone rubble with hipped C20 tile roof. Interior of mill not inspected but retains machinery. (Drawings and description of machinery in Oxfordshire County Museum, Woodstock, PRN reg. 7078).
