Pair of cottages. Early C17 (Triangle Cottage) The Elms and C17 Cottage to
right. Squared and coursed chalk on sarsen base; rear of Triangle Cottage is
timber-framed with chalk block and flint infill; thatched roof; brick stacks.
Triangle Cottage originally of 2-unit plan, main entry into kitchen and thence
living room: The Elms is of one unit, with wider single-bay extension to
east. 1 1/2-storey, 2 storey to right, 6-window range. Timber lintels over C20
doors and casements; two late C19 dormers at rear of The Elms; ridge and
end stacks. Interior: Triangle Cottage has chamfered beams with quirk and tongue
stop, cyma stops to beams in The Elms: collar-truss roof with butt
purlins . Late C20 lean-to and flat roof extensions to rear.
