Tower corn mill. 1789, rebuilt 1859 following fire. Brick circular tapering tower, tarred below, painted white above. Timber boat shaped cap. Current restoration commenced 1976. 9 storeys. Entrance to south below door in meal floor, both under corrugated iron and timber hood. Iron casements to each floor at cardinal points under segmental arches. To north, east and west, however, 3 or 4 are blocked or blind. Gallery above fifth floor : timber supported on iron brackets. Boat shaped cap with petticoat, fan cradle, 10-vaned fantail of 1978. Stocks but no sails. Interior. Many floor timbers replaced. Brakewheel, windshaft, wallower and upright shaft drive great spur wheel and stone nuts to 4 pairs stones in vats. Stones on fifth floor and under driven. Governors, sack hoist, pulley drive and enclosed stone nut frame intact or repaired.
