Farm

II

Range of 3 barns. Late C17 and C18. Brick, flint with brick dressings.
Thatched roofs. L-shaped in plan. Late C17 small barn with flint plinth
with brick cap; one doorway and one slit light to west face; south gable
now with doorway, blocked opening over which cuts platband; gable in brick
with blocked opening. Unable to gain access to interior. To the north
gable a higher barn has been added at right angles. Flint plinth with
brick cap. Blocked slit light. Large central opening to north face.
Interior. 5 bays. Tie beams with arch braces, collar beams; two rows
butt purlins with wind braces to the upper row. This barn shares a gable
with a third barn of 4 bays; off-centre door to north face. Large C20
door now in east gable wall. Platband. Brick gable. Interior. Roof
of slighter scantling than adjoining barn. Tie beams, some with arched
braces; 2 rows of butt purlins the upper with wind braces. Open lean-to
with pantiled roof to the south.
