5/89 Keeper's Cottage including outbuilding adj. West
II
Cottage and integral outbuilding. C18, extended in circa mid C19 and C20. English bond red brick with plinth. Red clay pantile roof with gabled ends and shaped rafter ends exposed at eaves. Brick axial stack with octagonal shafts with moulded caps and bases.
2-room plan cottage, each room heated from back-to-back fireplaces in central axial stack with entrance lobby in front and with large integral outbuilding on left (west) end. In C19 a single storey outhouse wing was built behind the main outbuilding and a small outshut was added behind the centre of the cottage, to be extended on either side in C20 by further outshuts.
1 storey and attic. Cottage to right has 2 window south front with C19 2-light casements on ground floor, blocked window to left of centre, C20 central porch and flush panel door. Rebuilt Flemish bond brick patch to right of porch. Gabled dormer to left of centre with C19 casement. Two small square windows on front of outbuilding on left, Blocked left doorway on west gable end. C19 casement on east end with C20 casement above in earlier pointed arch opening. Small brick outshut at rear of house, extended on left and right in C20, and C19 single storey wing on right behind main outbuilding with gable end stack.
Interior: Left and right hand rooms have chamfered cross-beams with run-out stops and C20 brick fireplaces. First floor, roof and outbuilding not seen.
