LODDON BECCLES ROAD TM 3698 (south-west side)

10/36 No. 2 Loddon House 25-9-51 II*

House, c.1710. Painted brick with stone dressings. Centre block with steep hipped slated roof with dentilled eaves cornice. Two and three storeys. 1:3:1 bays, three-bay centre pedimented and three storeys, slightly projecting with quoins, bands and keyblocks, one bay flanking two storeys. All sashes with glazing bars, centre second floor tall round-headed sash, good central doorway with wide fluted Corinthian pilasters and entablature with broken segmental pediment. Later C18 flanking wings, also painted brick with hipped slate roof with dentilled eaves cornices, two bays, right three storeys, left two storeys, sashes with glazing bars and keyblocks. Flanking far left and right large round-headed archway with brick pilasters and dentilled cornice, the left hand blind. Brick chimney stacks.
