BEDINGHAM SCHOOL ROAD TM 29 SE 5/14 Osborn's Farmhouse 5-9-60 (formerly listed under Bedingham Green)

Farmhouse. C16 and later. Timber frame, rendered and colourwashed, partly clad in brick. Steeply-pitched pantiled roof at two levels. 1 1/2 storeys, rectangular plan; attic rooms above upper storey in west end. Eastern end a C20 brick extension. Roof level higher at west end; axial chimney stack with four diagonally-set linked shafts at eastern end of higher range. C20 stair projection with unequal-pitched roof projects from south wall. Two 2-light casements west of stair projection. East range has mixed fenestration of C20 casements, one 3-light restored mullion window at ground floor level. Two gabled dormers with 3-light casements with glazing bars. C20 ridge stack at junction with new east end. On the north side, small wedge dormer to attic and 4-light mullion window to west, 3 ground floor casements to east. Interior: beams with ogee and stepped run-out chamfer stops. Inserted first floor over west end: tie beam cut between wallplates and upper crucks with collar beam inserted to provide roof tie. Clasped-purlin roof over west end. East end has one queenpost truss with cambered tie beam.
