Details
ACLE REEDHAM ROAD TG 41 SW 2/9 Childwall House and Bedlam. 25.9.62. II House, now subdivided into two dwellings. C17, much altered and remodelled. Rendered and colourwashed with reed-thatched roof. Two storeys and attics. Fenestration of Childwall House C19: one ground floor sash with architrave and leaded glazing, two 3-light first floor casements. C20 part-glazed entrance door with thatched porch roof on brackets. 'Bedlam' has all C20 casement windows, door and porch. Remains of brick modillion eaves course. Internal gable chimney stacks. Lower gabled thatched wing to west with internal gable stack. Later pantiled lean-to's on west side and at north gable. One gabled attic dormer with C20 casement on west side. Japonica cottage, attached to south gable, not of special interest.
