TG 2308 NE RECORDER ROAD (north side) 17/677 5.6.72. Stuart Court - II Almshouses. 1914 in tie-irons. Bed brick and pantile roof. Set back from street-line.with projecting wings which turn outwards along street-line. 2 storeys. 7 bays arranged A.B.C.D.C.B.A, 5 bay wings and 3 bay returns along street. Principal facade:- end and left-hand off-centre entrances with later C20 glazed doors. Single-storey canted bay windows in penulti- mate end bays with balustrading. Casement windows throughout: semi- elliptical arches with keystone at ground floor and flat arches at first floor. Stepped Dutch gables to projecting central bay and above bay windows. Memorial tablet to James Stuart in centre bay. Projecting wings:- central doors with C20 glazing and C20 window above. Single-storey canted bay windows flanking door. Stepped Dutch gable to street. Central canted bay window in street facade with gable above. End gables.
